Since 1991 the Institute of HeartMath (IHM) has been dedicated to helping people find balance between their mind and heart in life's activities. Our work is focused in two main areas, research and education. IHM research includes basic research on emotional physiology and heart-brain interactions, clinical studies, and research on the physiology of learning and performance. An additional line of inquiry aims to further the scientific understanding of the human biofield, intuition, and emotional energetic system. The Institute of HeartMath's research forms the foundation for the development of practical, scientifically-validated tools and technologies that enable people to improve their health, performance, and quality of life, while dramatically reducing stress.

Through our education division, we develop, test, and distribute learning programs for use in schools. Students using HeartMath learning programs demonstrate impressive gains in academic performance, reduction of stress levels and anxiety, and significant improvements in their attitudes and behaviors.

Educational Products
At the core of our learning programs are several HeartMath tools and techniques. All are research-based, easy to teach, and effective with a wide range of students, from at-risk to gifted. The programs help students better learn, comprehend, and focus, while improving a host of attitudes and behaviors including impulse control, locus of control, motivation, and anger management. One of our newest products, TestEdge®, improves comprehension, memory recall, and the ability to solve problems--all skills that shorten learning cycles and produce positive test results.
